Takeru Kobayashi Wins World Record in Lobster Roll Eating Contest
Takeru Kobayashi, the undisputed heavyweight champion of competitive eating did it again. At the Phantom Gourmet Food Festival in Boston on Saturday, he ate more than the COMBINED number of lobster rolls of four other competitors.
Koyabaslhi set a world record 41 lobster rolls in 10 minutes. Sponsored by an online gaming site goldenpalace.net, he took away $10,000 so that makes $1000 for each minute of work or eating.
But what the heck is a lobster roll? After digging around the net, I found a clip of the eating contest and it looks like just a bunch of shredded lobster meat in a hot dog bun. Boring.
Kobayashi claims he will try better next time as he was expected to reach 50 rolls. He only had his first lobster roll two days before the contest and pointed out the meat falls apart and is difficult to eat.
